report on the meeting janruary 28th 2008

A crowded room paid homage to black and white images last night.
David Morland's workshop and lecture was a big sucess with 25 members listening. He started with classic photos taken years ago by Ansell Adams, but they still rank among the best black and white ever produced, and this was our benchmark to achieve.
Using editing processes to enhance our images he suggested different ways by which a standard photo will end up with the correct variance and degree of black, grey and white to be spectacular and unforgetable photo. Each member trying to follow religously on their own laptop.
Oh would it be that such lesser mortals as ourselves could achieve such fame that would live as long as old Ansell.....
Maybe certain members who produce the odd startling image will obtain some lesser local praise but do so they must enter the Monochrome competition, but be aware the entries must be in by February 4th. AND the judge is none other than our resident expert, David Morland himself...
For the interested or converted the jugement Day will be 18th February, so come along and see if the message has got home.
