Established in 1949. The Society exists to further the skills, interests and enjoyment of all types of photography. It provides a forum for the exchange of information and ideas on photographic techniques, and encourages an appreciation of the artistic and creative side of photography. Members of all levels of achievement are encouraged to show and discuss their work. No photographic knowledge required - just enjoy viewing photographs and the night out!

Competition Rules

Rules For Club Competition Entries

  1. Only club members can enter.
  2. All prints need to be mounted on card / or foam board
  3. The minimum print size is 6 x 4 inches
  4. The maximum print size is 20 x 16 inches including the size of the mount
  5. All entries should carry the TITLE and your MEMBERSHIP NUMBER.
  6. Do not identify slides or prints with your name
  7. If entering slides place a "spot" on the bottom left hand corner when viewed
  8. Slides must not be greater than 2" x 2" square format
  9. All images must be the photographer's own work, not previously entered into our competitions
  10. Any Digital Images for projection must be in jpeg format at maximum quality, and no more than 1024 pixels wide by 768 pixels high (N.B. If in portrait format, the max. height will be 768 pixels). As images will be judged at a size adjusted to 1024 x 768 pixels, they are best entered at these dimensions. It is advised that sRGB colour space is used.
  11. Entries must be in the possession of the Competition Secretary on or before the announced closing dates.
